Welcome to The Single’s Table

Hello and Welcome to The Single’s Table! My hope is that this will be a place where Christian singles can come together and realize their worth within the body of Christ! The idea for this blog grew out of frustration as most churches that I’ve attended have put greater focus on marriage and family rather than fostering the fire for Jesus that I  look for as a single person and encouraging me to use my time of singleness wisely.

I’ve been a life long single (not necessarily by choice per se), but have only truly had a real relationship with Christ since about 2009. As I’ve grown in my relationship with Christ, He has come to change my attitude about being single from thinking that it’s a social disease, which can only be cured through a romantic relationship (my grandpa once told me that I needed to find a husband so that I could buy a house and “really start my life”) to understanding that the time I have as a single person is a precious blessing that allows me to deepen my relationship with God and truly shine His light in such a dark world. I am  in no way a bible scholar, so I tend to document my own experience and revelations through my personal study of the bible, discussions that I have with other Christian friends, and anything else that God lays upon my heart.

My goal with this blog is to help other Christian singles (who may feel alienated or alone, especially at church) know that

A) There IS a place for you within God’s kingdom

B) That Jesus died for you just as much as He died for our married friends and

C) That you are TRULY welcome at Jesus’ table, because in heaven there won’t be such a thing as a “singles table.”
