Falling to your knees in prayer can be one of the most humbling acts you can participate in, but it's definitely a great way to fend off Satan's lies that can easily take over when you least expect them. Having the word of God planted in your mind and ready to use when needed has been an invaluable resource in fighting off the advances of the enemy.
The thing is, our singleness could very well be an act of obedience to God’s expectations for this season or for our lifetime.
So what can you do to combat that stigma that surrounds singleness, especially in the church?
Marriage is not inherently more valuable to God than singleness. You can be married or you can be single and either way God loves you and has created a way for you to just be you.
Matthew 10:29-31 “Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.”

In those moments (when I feel inadequate, self conscious, and unworthy) all of my insecurities about being single rush to the surface and I’m overwhelmed by emotions tied to my dwindling hope of a brighter future. Those are the moments when I need to remember to seek the truth in God’s word, rather than listening to the lies of the world.
“Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up.”- Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
Just because it seems like God hasn’t blessed you with the spouse or romantic relationship that you want, doesn’t mean that you can’t be joyful and happy about all of the other wonderful things that He has blessed you with in this life.
We are all God's beloved children, so we can all rest secure, knowing that he is our protector, our hope, and the truest of true love. You know, the kind of true love that we all dream about. Forget Prince Charming, I'll take Jesus!
